Shelley Bay Wharf Beams

 

Remember the old iconic Shelly Bay wharf?

The crown took over the land in the late 1880s, for defence purposes. In 1902 the existing wharf was extended and in 1907 The Royal Navy constructed a new wharf. In the 1940s during World War ll the wharf complex went under expansion. 1946-1995 Shelly Bay was transferred to the RNZAF and was used as a logistics and base support facility. Demolition of the wharf started at the beginning of 2023.

Made from Australian Hardwood, the timber will outlive everyone!

Chains and bolts still attached to some (added character)

Great for garden feature pieces, long seats, walkways.
